WUN TING WENDY TAI

Balloons, 2011.
Interactive sculpture. 4 x 3 x 6 ft. Handmade graphite pencil, paper, vinyl, helium-filled balloons, table.

A graphite pencil in the shape of a balloon mould is suspended by balloons. Viewers were invited to make rubbing son the table. As the graphite is used up, there is less weight achoring the balloons and they eventually rise.

Words are underneath the paper to encourage rubbing. The text is adapted from 'Balloons', a poem by Sylvia Plath.
